The Simonsweingarten tunnel (also Simonsweingarten tunnel ) is a 420 m long railway tunnel on the high-speed line Mannheim – Stuttgart .
The structure drives under the Great Forest , which extends between Heidelsheim and Oberacker .

The structure begins at km 53.0 and ends at 53.427.
The route in the tunnel largely runs in a left curve with a 35,000 m radius. In the area of the south portal, the tunnel crosses under the L 618 state road . The gradient rises slightly to the southeast. The structure marks the end of a 13 km long uphill section.
To the north is the Frauenwald viaduct , to the south the Kraichtal overtaking station follows .
history
The public hearing took place in Oberacker on June 22nd, 1978 .
The tunnel with a length of 420 m was planned as early as 1983.
The structure was put into operation in 1991.
