Villa Simrockstrasse 13 (2009)

The building at Simrockstraße 13 is a residential building in the Gronau district of Bonn , which was built in 1897. It is located on the outskirts of Südstadt on the corner of Buschstrasse and is part of a row of nine houses on Simrockstrasse. The house has three floors with converted attic and stands as a monument under monument protection .

history

The house was built in 1897 according to plans by the Beuel architect Hermann Ritzefeld. In 1913 it was raised and expanded towards Buschstrasse. After the building suffered damage in World War II , the owner, who lived on the ground floor, set up a retail shop in a garage attached to Buschstrasse .

In the 1960s, equipment details from the construction period were removed from all floors. The building was entered in the city of Bonn's list of monuments in the spring of 1990. The entire residential building was now completely renovated and used as an office building. The dairy shop closed and returned to the garage.

After reunification in 1990, the state representation of the newly founded state of Thuringia , previously temporarily housed on Heussallee, moved into the house on the edge of the parliamentary and government district as a rental property in March 1991 (→ entry in the list of state representations ). The neighboring building at Simrockstrasse 15 was later rented. The state representation initially employed 15 and lastly 30 employees, the workrooms were on the two lower floors and the bedrooms on the top floor.

In the course of relocating the seat of parliament and government , the representation of the Free State of Thuringia moved to Berlin in the summer of 1999 . Today the house is used as a mixed office and residential building.
