history

The first written mention of the medieval village comes from the year 1555. Already before 1575 Zipsdorf became part of the possessions of Brandt von Lindau zu Wiesenburg. The village must have been abandoned in the meantime, as it is said in 1592 that the place fell in desolation a long time ago. From 1702 Zipsdorf came into the possession of Gut Schmerwitz . In 1745 a tar hut was mentioned, which was built on the desert field marrow and in 1777 a cottage owner on the land of a manor. Until 1807 the place belonged to the Kurkreis and after its name change to the Wittenberger Kreis . In 1817, the 34-inhabitant and thus previously repopulated town came to the Zauch-Belzig district . In 1837 there was an outbuilding with 6 houses and 34 inhabitants. In 1858 Zipsdorf was 8024 acres , of which 4 acres were farms, 20 acres of fields and 8,000 acres of forest. In addition to the Vorwerk, it had a forester's house. At that time there were a total of 7 residential and 11 farm buildings as well as 51 residents.

On July 25, 1952, Zipsdorf became part of the newly created Belzig district in the Potsdam district .
