Sirpa Kukkonen

Sirpa Eeva Annikki Kukkonen (born December 7, 1958 in Tervo ) is a former Finnish ski orienteer .

At her first World Championship in 1982 in Aigen im Ennstal , she was third in the individual race behind the Swede Arja Hannus and Mirja Puhakka from Finland. In the season with her older sister Sinikka Kukkonen and Puhakka, she came second. Again she ran into the medal ranks at the 1988 World Cup in Kuopio, Finland . She was third on the short and long distance, and she won gold in the relay with Anne Benjaminsen and Virpi Juutilainen .

Sirpa Kukkonen ran for the clubs Suonenjoen Vasama , Lahden Suunnistajat -37 and Lammin Säkiä . She won a Finnish individual championship and three relay titles.
