Sissy Metzschke

Sissy Metzschke (born September 12, 1984 in Halle (Saale) ) is a German radio and television presenter.

Life

Metzschke grew up in Halle (Saale). After graduating from high school, she worked for a year as a sports entertainer at the Robinson Club Esquinzo Playa on Fuerteventura , but then returned to Halle for an internship at the radio station MDR JUMP . At the same time, she began studying media and communication sciences and American / English studies at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg , which she completed with a Magister Artium.

In the course of this course she moved back to the USA, where she studied for a semester at San Diego State University . During her time in San Diego, she created radio reports for MDR Sputnik about life in California . After completing her studies, she worked for several semesters as a lecturer for media practice at Martin Luther University.

Since 2005 she has been working as a moderator for the MDR. During her studies, she moderated the morning program "Sputnik Dein Morgen" together with Alex Buchwald and Stephan Michme. As a Youtube reporter she is on the road for the MDR at various festivals, visited Dirk Nowitzki in Dallas and accompanied radio concerts with Clueso , the Beatsteaks , Casper .

On MDR television she was u. a. as a reporter at Voss and Team, as the host of Sputnik Litpop, in the festival summer, as well as in the documentary “We are so good! The Germans and their hard work ”.

In July 2017, MDR Sputnik established the YouTube format "Illegalefragen", in which she interviews a different artist every Thursday. In autumn 2017 she interviewed Angela Merkel at the "Kanzlercheck" of the young waves of ARD . In the same year she moderated the New Music Award in Berlin together with Chris Guse from " Radio Fritz " .

Since 2010 she has hosted the special music program "Sputnik Popkult" at MDR Sputnik. Since 2017 she has been working on Saturdays for Deutschlandfunk Nova as a reporter with the "Wissensbundesliga".

In addition, she moderates various events, such as Ted Talks , campus festivals, award ceremonies and panel discussions, such as in November 2018 for the European Commission in Cologne.
