Jesaia "Sjaak" Swart (born July 3, 1938 in Amsterdam ) is a former Dutch football player .

Career

society

The former right-winger played only for Ajax Amsterdam during his 17-year professional career, which lasted from 1956 to 1973 . During this time he was able to win the Dutch championship eight times and the KNVB Cup five times with Ajax . He was part of the Ajax team that won the European Cup three times in a row between 1971 and 1973 . With 463 appearances for Ajax in the honor division , he is the club's record player and with his 175 goals he is third on the club's internal goalscorer list; only Johan Cruyff and Piet van Reenen were able to score more goals during their time at Ajax.

France Football points out that for Ajax's greatest period between 1964 and 1973 only Cruijff and, with reservations, left winger Piet Keizer received the merits. Sjaak Swart also has a comparable offensive significance, which is why the trade journal describes this Ajax trio as one of the six most formative attack series since the Second World War - and as "the most revolutionary".

National team

Between 1960 and 1972 Swart played 31 international matches for the Dutch national football team , in which he could score ten times.
