Scalamander
Skalamander is a ska band from Hanau in Hesse, founded in 1996 .
After the end of the Hanau ska band Skanx , various musicians around Florian Struckmeyer, the former trombonist of Skanx, came together in 1996 and founded the band Skalamander.
First and foremost, your music should be danceable. The nine-member band sees itself in the musical tradition of El Bosso & the ping-pongs . She plays a fast ska with emphasis on winds and catches the eye with her uniform presentation in the black and white "ska checks".
In 1998 they released their first album "Skawochenende", followed in 2001 by "An indecent tone".
Skalamander is one of the few German-speaking Skabands, but has so far not achieved any major supra-regional importance.
