The Skeidshornet is a 2725 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It rises 8 km west-southwest of Mount Valikhanov from the ridge of the Petermann range in the Wohlthat massif .
The mountain was discovered and first mapped during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . Norwegian cartographers used aerial photographs and measurements by the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960) to re-map and named the mountain.
