Skeleton Skeletron is the sixth studio album of Metal - band Tiamat . It was published by Century Media in August 1999 .
Origin and style
After the very experimental A Deeper Kind of Slumber , the band returned to more dark rock- oriented sounds with Skeleton Skeletron . The keyboards took a back seat - instead, the electric guitars were emphasized. With Sympathy for the Devil , the band recorded a cover of the Rolling Stones . A music video was also shot for the single Brighter than the Sun. Church of Tiamat is also the name of the band's fan club. This name was later used for a DVD.
reception
The album reached number 19 in the charts in Germany, making it the band's highest-ranking release there. Wolfgang Schäfer wrote in Rock Hard magazine : “What Paradise Lost didn't even try, the team around mastermind Johan Edlund succeeded in doing - the difficult task of combining the best of both worlds without losing a bit of credibility. This is exactly why Skeleton Skeletron has become the best possible successor and compromise that fans old and new alike could hope for. ”Its rating was 8.5 out of ten.
