The Scarred People -

The Scarred People is the tenth studio album of Metal - band Tiamat . It was released on Napalm Records in November 2012 .

Origin and style

On The Scarred People , which was produced with Sigi Bemm in Hagen , Germany , Tiamat mix the Gothic Metal roots with various rock influences, including classic rock , so that the result comes close to dark rock . Johan Edlund described the album as "velvety" than its predecessor Amanethes . It is also “more looking back, like the end of a book.” When asked whether Tiamat didn't write about fictional things, Edlund replied that the band didn't write about science fiction , history or fantasy , but had to “live the album first. To get the inspiration, we really have to do it first. I've never written a song about going to a strange club if I didn't. ”According to Björn Springorum from Metal Hammer magazine , the album“ has become spiritual . Not in an esoteric or occult way, but rather deeply personal. You could say that the tenth album is also a mirror of Edlund's view of life - and anything but a dull repetition of already existing mantras or beliefs. ”The bonus tracks were two cover pieces, Born to Die by Lana Del Rey and Paradise by Bruce Springsteen added. The bonus version also contains two live tracks, Cain and Divided , the studio versions of which appeared on the Prey album .

reception

Petra Schurer wrote in Metal Hammer magazine that the band's style exudes “a very special atmosphere that can best be categorized as ' hippie gloom'.” “Change doesn't necessarily have to be radical, it can also have a big impact on a small scale . “She awarded five out of seven points.
