Anders Iwers (born October 6, 1972 ) is a Swedish guitarist and bassist . He is a member of the bands Tiamat , Ceremonial Oath and Dark Tranquility and previously played with Cemetary, among others .

Anders Iwers is the older brother of the former in-flames bassist Peter Iwers .

Career

Iwers' first band was Desecrator , which released two demos in 1990 . A year later the band changed their name to Ceremonial Oath, with whom Iwers released two albums as guitarist before the band split up in 1995.

A year earlier, Iwers joined the band Cemetary, with whom he released three albums as a guitarist. 1997 broke up on Cemetary. Iwers did not take part in the reunification that took place in the meantime in 2000. After the dissolution of Cemetary Anders Iwers went to the band Tiamat, with whom he released six albums as a bassist. In 2003 Iwers recorded the album Why? With the band Mercury Tide . on. The band was a solo project by Angel Dust singer Dirk Thurisch. In October 2016, Iwers was introduced as the new bassist in the band Dark Tranquility.

In addition to his main bands, Iwers was active as a live musician in various bands. He helped in the founding phase of In Flames and also played a few concerts with the band. 1997 Iwers played as a guitarist on a tour with the Italian band Lacuna Coil . Iwers has been active as a live bassist with the band Avatarium since 2014 , as the actual bassist Leif Edling no longer plays concerts for health reasons.
