Clouds is the third studio album of the Metal - band Tiamat . It was published by Century Media in September 1992 .

Origin and style

On Clouds the Death Doom influences gave way even more in favor of catchy song structures, whereby influences from classic Heavy Metal were again noticed, which are supplemented by keyboard interludes. The vocals are no longer oriented towards Death Metal - on some tracks Johan Edlund speaks the lyrics. Again was Waldemar Sorychta the producer. The new bassist Johnny Hagel contributed to the songwriting .

reception

Frank Albrecht wrote in Rock Hard magazine that Tiamat had “an unrestrictedly independent sound, to which the keyboards in particular contribute, which surprise the listener again and again, because sometimes they are spacey, then seventies-like, but always extremely melodic. Melody is actually the magic word that Tiamat have discovered for themselves. ”He praised Sorychta's production and awarded ten out of ten points. Eduardo Rivadavia from Allmusic awarded four out of five stars. He called Clouds "another major step in the quick sonic evolution of Tiamat".
