Peter Iwers

Peter Iwers (2006)

Peter Iwers (born May 15, 1975 in Stockholm , Sweden ) is a Swedish bass player . He was a member of the metal band In Flames for a long time .

Career

Iwers has been the bass player for the band In Flames since 1999 . He replaced Johan Larsson there and can be heard for the first time on the fourth album Colony . Before joining In Flames, he played in a band called Chameleon . On November 29, 2016, he announced his departure from In Flames at the end of the current tour. With In Flames Iwers released nine studio albums, of which Sounds of a Playground Fading was awarded a gold record in Sweden . In Flames were awarded the Grammis Music Prize three times . Together with the former in-flames guitarist Jesper Strömblad , Iwers performed as a DJ duo Sellout and DJ Kaos . Iwers and Strömblad formed the band Cyhra in autumn 2016 .

Iwers is divorced and has two daughters. In May 2011, Iwers and his bandmate Björn Gelotte opened the restaurant 2112 in Gothenburg , the name of which is derived from the album of the same name by the band Rush . His older brother Anders Iwers is also a musician and plays with Tiamat and Dark Tranquility .

Equipment

Peter Iwers plays instruments made by Ibanez . The signature model named after him with the series designation PIB has been produced in different variations since 2009. The 5-string instrument has the basic tuning 1D #, 2A #, 3F, 4C, 5A #.
