Jesper Strömblad (born November 28, 1972 ) is a Swedish guitarist and songwriter . Until 2010 he was a member of the metal band In Flames , which he founded in 1990.

life and career

Strömblad played drums for Hammerfall from 1993 to 1997 . His first band Ceremonial Oath gave up Strömblad in 1994 to devote himself to In Flames and Hammerfall. He plays guitars from the Gibson Voodoo series and the Peavey 5150 amplifier. In his career he also played for Dimension Zero and Sinergy . He also had a guest appearance with the band Annihilator . He lives in Gothenburg , Sweden.

Together with his former bandmates Björn Gelotte and Daniel Svensson, he forms the "HORDE" production team.

Since 2011 he has played in the death metal band The Resistance together with his former In-Flames colleague Glenn Ljungström. Strömblad had a guest appearance at the anniversary show for the 20th anniversary of his former band Hammerfall at Wacken Open Air 2014. Two years later he founded the band Cyhra together with the former Amaranthe singer Joacim Lundberg .

In 2015, Strömblad announced that he was suffering from anxiety problems and depression. Since these often led to alcohol consumption and other problems, he would be under treatment. The problems have existed for over 20 years.
