Björn Gelotte (born August 27, 1975 in Gothenburg ) is a Swedish guitarist and songwriter . He is a member of the metal band In Flames .

Career

Gelotte, who previously played with the band Sights, joined In Flames after their drummer Daniel Erlandsson left the band and played the next two albums, The Jester Race and Whoracle , as the new drummer. After guitarist Glenn Ljungström left In Flames, Gelotte switched to guitar. His successor on drums is Daniel Svensson from the band Sacrilege.

Björn's sister Emma Gelotte was the singer in the metal band All Ends . In the early days of the band, Björn and his former colleague Jesper Strömblad , who played the second guitar in In Flames, helped his sister and helped her compositionally.

Together with his former bandmates Jesper Strömblad and Daniel Svensson, he forms the "HORDE" production team. In May 2011, Gelotte and his bandmate Peter Iwers opened the restaurant 2112 in Gothenburg , the name of which is derived from the album of the same name by the band Rush .
