Until December 2006, Skjern Municipality was a Danish municipality in what was then Ringkjøbing Office in Jutland . Since January 2007 it has been merged with the municipalities of Holmsland , Ringkøbing , Videbæk and Egvad to form Ringkøbing-Skjern Municipality .

Skjern Municipality was created as part of the administrative reform of 1970 and comprised the following Sogn :

• Bølling Sogn
• Dejbjerg Sogn
• Faster Sogn
• Hanning Sogn
• Skjern Sogn
• Fjelstervang Sogn
• Stauning Sogn
• Sædding Sogn
• Sønder Borris Sogn
