Skratch bastid

Skratch Bastid (* 2 September 1982 in Bedford , Nova Scotia , Canada as Paul Murphy ), is a Canadian DJ and for the Juno -nominated award music producer . He is a three-time Scribble Jam DJ Battles winner . The URB (magazine) described him as "a DJ with more than mixing up his sleeves". He is the global ambassador and judge for Red Bull's annual Thre3style DJ competition.

Career

Skratch Bastid's rise to prominence began with his 2003 Scribble Jam win, and his world-class ranks continued with successes in 2004 and 2007. He released a joint album with John Smith and Pip Skid in 2005 called Taking Care of Business on his own label First Things First Records and was the first Canadian DJ to be nominated for the Juno Award for Producer of the Year 2008 for his work on Buck 65 's album Situation for his joint project with the Afiara String Quartet with The title Spin Cycle was nominated for the Juno Award for Instrumental Album of the Year in 2016.

Since 2010 he has been hosting daytime block party events in various cities called Bastid's BBQ . Headliners to date include DJ Jazzy Jeff , DJ Premier , Just Blaze , Ali Shaheed Muhammad , Z-Trip , k-os and Grandtheft .
