Skylanders is a video game series from Activision that currently consists of six main games. It is an offshoot of the Spyro game series and is based on the fact that real figures are placed on a "portal" by the digital characters and can then be played in the game. The series was mainly developed by the development studios Toys for Bob and Vicarious Visions .

Gameplay

Skylanders is a " toys-to-life " game from the action adventure genre. Such as B. in Disney Infinity in Skylanders physical figures of the characters must be placed on the "Portal of Power" so that they can be played. The "Portal of Power" must be connected to the game console and contains an NFC reader that recognizes the characters that are placed on the portal.

Skylanders plays in a "Skylands" ( dt . About Sky Country) World mentioned that consists of flying islands. The Skylands are the center of the universe and are repeatedly attacked by evil forces who want to gain access to all worlds. As the “portal master”, the player controls the “Skylanders”, which protect the Skylands, and must use them to stop these evil forces. Each Skylander is assigned to one of 8 (from Skylanders: Trap Team 10) elements.

The Skylanders figures can be used on any platform. The Skylanders from the previous parts can also be used in each game. While the console versions of Skylanders tell the same story, the 3DS parts of the series follow a different story.
