Skyscraper was the second album released by David Lee Roth . Roth also took on the production , guitarist Steve Vai co-produced it .
History of origin
The follow-up album to Eat 'Em and Smile was recorded from spring to autumn 1987 in the recording studio The Power Station and in the Lion Share Studio in Los Angeles . Magic Moreno acted as the sound engineer. Additional recordings were made in the Amigo studio in Los Angeles.
The album was recorded with the same line-up as its predecessor, but Billy Sheehan left the group before the subsequent tour and founded Mr. Big . Steve Vai also left the band and joined Whitesnake in 1989 .

Charts and Achievements
Skyscraper reached number 6 on the Billboard 200 , the singles Just Like Paradise (number 6) and Stand Up (number 64) made it onto the Billboard Hot 100 . Skyscraper was awarded gold and platinum in the United States on March 29, 1988 .
