The Weser type is a series cargo ship from the Slovenské Lodenice shipyard in Komárno .

details

The river coasters of the Weser type are designed as multi-purpose dry cargo ships with a deckhouse far aft and a long hold . The retractable bridge above the engine room can be lowered to the level of the rest of the deckhouse. The type has a mostly box-shaped loading space with a volume of 4083 m 3 , which is closed by electro-hydraulic folding hatch covers and in which two movable bulkheads can be inserted. The cargo area is 57.50 meters long, 9.00 meters wide and 8.06 meters high. The tank roof is reinforced for cargo handling with grabs and the transport of heavy goods . The stowage of 78 20-foot containers ( TEU ) in the hold, another 48 TEU can be transported on the hatch covers.

The ships of the series are powered by a MWM six-cylinder four-stroke diesel engine of the type SBV 6M628 with an output of around 1125 kW, which acts on a variable-pitch propeller via a reduction gear . Auxiliary and emergency diesel engines are also available. The berthing and casting off maneuvers are supported by a bow thruster .

The ice-reinforced hulls were assembled in a sectional construction. The ships have a bow with a bulbous bow that falls slightly above the waterline .

The Weser series units are mainly used in small and medium-sized voyages and are approved up to the west coast of Africa.
