Smail Morabit (born July 5, 1988 in Forbach ) is a French football player of Moroccan origin.

Career

Morabit began his career at the French club US Forbach . After the Sportfreunde Köllerbach were promoted to the German Oberliga Südwest in the 2007/08 season , Morabit played for the club from the town, 20 kilometers from Forbach, from the summer of 2007.

In June 2008 he moved to Eintracht Braunschweig , which had previously been promoted to the newly founded 3rd division . He signed a contract until June 30, 2010 and made his debut in professional football on July 26, 2008, when he came on as a substitute for Tim Danneberg on the first day of the third division against FC Erzgebirge Aue at the beginning of the second half .

The striker did not extend his contract with Eintracht Braunschweig, which expired in the summer of 2010, and moved to CS Fola Esch . However, after only a week he dissolved the contract and returned to his previous club, Sportfreunde Köllerbach . A torn ligament ended his engagement with the league club prematurely.

On June 14, 2011 he signed a two-year contract with FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt for the 3rd division. In the 2011/12 season he was the second striker behind Marcel Reichwein , who was the league shooter king. He himself scored nine goals in 32 games.

For the 2013/14 season , Morabit moved to the 2nd Bundesliga for VfL Bochum . There he was not able to assert himself in the preparation as hoped. In order to collect match practice, Morabit was awarded to 1. FC Heidenheim in the 3rd division in August 2013 until the end of the 2014 season and then signed by the now second-rate club.

In January 2017, Morabit joined the FSV Frankfurt . He signed a contract with FSV until June 30, 2019. After Morabit could not prevent relegation with the Frankfurt team, he joined SV Elversberg in the Regionalliga Südwest . At the Kaiserlinde, Morabit received a contract valid until summer 2019.
