Smilov (German Schmeil ) is a desert in the Okres Olomouc in the area of ​​the Libavá military training area ( Czech Republic ).

history

In 1910 Schmeil had 738 inhabitants. Around 1920 Schmeil was an agricultural and craft town with about 650–700 inhabitants. At that time, tradesmen were located in the agricultural town: a sawmill , a house painter, two binders , four millers , two of whom also operated a board saw , a saddler , two blacksmiths , a tailor , a shoemaker and two wagons . In 1930 Schmeil had 700 inhabitants in 129 houses. In 1939 Schmeil had 728 inhabitants. A slate quarry was operated in the hallway of the village .

After the Munich Agreement , Schmeil was added to the German Reich and until 1945 belonged to the Bärn district .

In 1946 the largely German-speaking population was expelled and the community became part of the Libavá military training area. The part of the cadastre in the Bystřice valley is now part of the Hlubočky commune .
