Smith Creek is one of several creeks with that name in the US state of Alabama . It runs entirely in Jackson County in the north-east of the state, not far from the state lines with Tennessee and Georgia , southwest of Chattanooga . The stream flows at a height of 387 m in the Reeves Creek .
course
The origin of Smith Creek is north of a pool about six hundred meters east of the Ebenezer Cemetery on Alabama State Route 73 . The stream leaves the pool and flows a few hundred meters south through a narrow valley before it receives an unnamed tributary from the left. From then on it follows a south-westerly direction through relatively open land. Shortly before crossing under County Road 291, another unnamed tributary flows from the right. Then Smith Creek re-enters a narrow valley, which turns south after a bend. In this valley in which open out several unnamed inflows from both sides, the Smith Creek runs up to its mouth in the Reeves Creek, only about two hundred feet above the location at the State Route 73 at which this with the Buck Creek the Lively Creek forms.
