Smooth Lee is a Founded in 2000 ska-punk - band from Beerse , Belgium . The name contains a play on words, derived from the English word smoothly ( German smoothly / problem-free).

history

After the founding, the initially eight musicians recorded a demo relatively quickly and played on every stage that could be found. A music label was not found at first, but the band was allowed to contribute to some samplers. In 2006 Übersee Records released the sampler Übersee vs. Europe , on which the band also finds space and in the course of which a record deal came about. A short time later Jan "Jakke" left the band on the alto saxophone. He wanted to devote himself to other things in the future and had lost the fun. The now seven-member band decided to record the long-planned debut album " Take Me ", which was released on April 20, 2007 on Übersee Records.

style

The musical influences are very classic for such a band with role models like The Mighty Mighty Bosstones , Rancid , the Dropkick Murphys or Less Than Jake . The roots are obviously recognizable, not least because the vocal color of the singer is very similar to the typical vocal sound of the Mighty Mighty Bosstones.
