Snow Jazz Gastein

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Snow Jazz Gastein is an international jazz festival that was launched in 2002. The high-alpine festival, at which concerts take place at various locations in the Gastein Valley (sawmill Bad Hofgastein , hotels, ski huts) at up to 2200 m above sea level, has become an integral part of the regional cultural calendar. Combining winter sports, especially skiing, with contemporary cultural events was and is the conceptual approach for this festival. During the day, bands will entertain winter sports enthusiasts in the ski huts and restaurants (free of charge), while in the evening international jazz greats such as Erika Stucky , Theo Bleckmann , Ray Anderson , Carlo Actis Dato , Gianluigi Trovesi & Gianni Coscia , in concert halls, clubs and hotel bars , Michel Godard , Mario Rom , Céline Bonacina , Danilo Rea , Flavio Boltro , The Tiptons Sax Quartet , Jan Galega Brönnimann or Andreas Schaerer will perform.

The festival takes place annually in March.
