Sobekemsaf II. Was an ancient Egyptian king ( pharaoh ) of the 17th Dynasty ( Second Intermediate Period ) and ruled after Franke around 1570 BC. Chr.

family

Sobekemsaf II was married to Queen Nubchaes. There is another queen of this name in the 13th Dynasty . In older research, this resulted in Sobekemsaf II being classified in the 13th dynasty. However, the name Nubchaes is found quite often in this period, so that it is not difficult to assume that there are two queens of the same name.

His grave

His pyramid was also in Dra Abu el-Naga / Thebes . It was already in the 16th year of Ramses IX. robbed and the mummies burned, as old papyri show as trial protocols ( Papyrus Abbott , 20th Dynasty ).

Further evidence of his name is the stele of a scribe Sobekhotep, a limestone shrine from Thebes, as well as two statues and a stele, which could also come from the time of Sobekemsaf I and cannot be clearly assigned to Sobekemsaf II, as they only have the name Sobekemsaf and not mention the throne name.
