The Société des Touristes du Dauphiné ( STD ) is a mountain association founded in Grenoble that , as a member of the French Mountaineering and Climbing Association (FFME), offers various activities related to mountaineering , climbing , ski touring and hiking .
The STD was the first Alpine Club, the most Belledonnesee the Belledonne shelter a shelter built in the Alps, since the First World War, is in ruins.
Today the STD operates five mountain huts. Refuge Jean Collet in Belledonne, Refuge de la Fare in Grandes Rousses, as well as the Refuge Adèle Planchard , Refuge de la Selle and Refuge du Soreiller in the Ecrins massif .
The abbot Laurent Guétal, landscape painter Dauphinois, was one of the first members of the STD.
