The majority of this is obtained from the Azienda Elettrica Ticinese (AET) and distributed in 73 municipalities of the Sopraceneri in the canton of Ticino and in five municipalities of the Misox in the canton of Graubünden . SES has long-term supply contracts with these municipalities.
history
The company emerged in 1933 from the merger of the Società Elettrica Locarnese (SEL) founded in 1903 and the Società Elettrica Tre Valli (SETV) founded in 1913 . From 1959, the Sopraceneriana obtained 33 million kWh from AET to supply the upper valleys of the Sopraceneris, while the lower valleys continued to be supplied by its own Piottino power station . In 1972, the Sopraceneriana ceded the power plant to AET, and in return obtained the right to supply the AET area with electricity.
