Vegetative characteristics

Socratea exorrhiza is a perennial plant that stands on stilt roots up to 2 meters high and can reach heights of 20 meters. The palm fronds are up to 2 meters long and form on a blue-green crown shaft.

Generative characteristics

It is single sexed ( monoecious ). The threefold flowers are white. They form stone fruits with a diameter of 2 to 3 cm.
