Sol del Paraguay Líneas Aéreas was a Paraguayan airline based in Asunción .
history
The company was founded in 2010 as a subsidiary of the Sol del Paraguay bus company , received approval from the Paraguayan licensing authority DINAC in June 2011 and started scheduled flight operations on November 18, 2011. This was already discontinued on August 1, 2012. The reasons given were the difficult economic environment and the uncooperative, sometimes hostile attitude of some neighboring countries with regard to new destinations.
From December 2014, Sol del Paraguay plans to offer flights again with a Cessna 208 , but initially only domestic flights.
Destinations
Apart from the home airport Asunción (November 2011) only Ciudad del Este and Buenos Aires (Ezeiza) were served . The intention was to fly to a large number of other destinations in the short to medium term.
fleet
The fleet last consisted of three Fokker 100 machines (built in 1991) with the names "Lago de Ypacaraí" (ZP-CAL), "Itapúa Poty" (ZP-CFL) and "Héroes del Chaco" (ZP-CJK).
