Son ar chistr ( Breton , song from the cider , German, What do we want to drink ? ) Is a well-known folk song in Brittany . It was composed in 1929 by Jean Bernard and Jean-Marie Prima from the Morbihan department .
It was performed over and over by various Breton performers. It was first published in 1951 by Polig Monjarret . The version of the harpist Alan Stivell became known throughout Europe in 1970.
This was followed by two recordings by the Dutch group Bots Zeven dagen lang (1976) and seven days long (1980). In Germany, the Höhner version is best known : What do we want to drink (1995).
