Sonja Hurani

Sonja Hurani (born September 13, 1984 in Pforzheim ) is a German actress and singer with Arabic roots.

Life

Sonja Hurani was born the second child of an Arab family. Her father Saleh Hurani, born in Palestine in 1935 , came to Germany as a war refugee at the age of 25 and settled in Pforzheim . He is a Reiki master and now lives in Jordan . Her mother was born in Tunisia and also came to Pforzheim after their wedding.

Sonja Hurani has been on stage as a vocal soloist since she was 12. At the same time, she was involved in various musical and theater productions at the Kulturhaus Osterfeld Pforzheim from the age of 12 to 19 . In 2006 she graduated from the Königin-Charlotte-Gymnasium in Stuttgart and then moved to Hamburg . From 2006 to 2008, she did a scholarship to train as a musical actress at the Stageart Musical School. Also with a scholarship, she completed her training as a musical theater actress at the Hamburg School of Entertainment in 2010 .

After completing her training, Hurani was initially involved in various musical productions on tour and at theaters, including in 2016, 2017 and 2019 in the Cosmos Factory, Worpswede. From 2013 to 2015 she toured as backing vocal with rapper Darkman Nana . In 2013 she appeared in the television film Silent Nights in the role of Filiz for the first time as an actress in front of the camera. This was followed by other roles in the television film The Romeo Principle and in the ZDF television series Sibel and Max .
