Sonnenalm is a holiday resort in the Hinterbergtal in the Styrian Salzkammergut . It is a district of Bad Mitterndorf and lies west of the town center between the districts of Obersdorf and Rödschitz on slightly hilly terrain at an altitude of 810 to 840 meters. Salzkammergutstrasse B 145 runs near the settlement .
The settlement was built in the 1970s. It comprises eight six-storey apartment buildings, which with their triangular design should blend in well with the landscape. They each contain over 30 residential units of various sizes. There are numerous small holiday homes and bungalows between the tall buildings. There is also a complex of terraced houses. The houses and apartments are both used and rented out by their owners.
The location of the Sonnenalm opens up extensive opportunities for holiday activities in its surroundings, both in summer and in winter. The nearby Grimming thermal baths offer wellness .
