Sophie Charlotte von Sell

Sophie Charlotte Freiin von Sell (born December 25, 1864 in Schwerin , † June 14, 1941 in Stockholm ) was a German writer .

Life

Sophie Charlotte von Sell was the daughter of an officer . She spent her childhood in Schwerin and in 1878 followed her father who had moved to Aachen . Stays in various garrison towns in the Rhineland followed . From 1885 von Sell lived in Berlin , where she completed her musical training and published her first literary works. In 1893 the author returned to Schwerin; from 1900 she lived again in Berlin. She spent the last years of her life in Stockholm . Her grave is on the Norra begravningsplatsen .

Sophie Charlotte von Sell was a writer of novels and short stories . Her novel Weggenossen , published in 1911, was particularly successful and by 1941 had a circulation of over 270,000 copies.
