Life
Sophie Eleonore von Kortzfleisch was the eldest daughter of the Electoral Saxon and Polish major Georg Ernst von Wuntsch on Groß-Jännowitz near Liegnitz and his wife Anna Eleonore nee Baroness von Seherr-Thoß . Sophie Eleonore showed talent and inclination for poetry from an early age . She began writing poetry herself at the age of 18 , mainly casual poetry and emotional poetry . A first collection of her poems appeared anonymously in 1776 under the title Poetic Attempts by an Aristocratic Woman to Her Friends . In the same year she published two more dramatic works: Laufus and Lydia and Osmann and Bella . In 1778 her operetta Wilhelm und Hannchen was published . In the years 1792 and 1793, three collections of poetry were published by Vieweg under their full names and no longer anonymously as before . Many of her poems are strongly patriotic and show a loyal, devoted attachment to the Prussian royal family.
Sophie Eleonore von Kortzfleisch was married to Karl Wilhelm von Kortzfleisch for the first time. This was staff assistant master and squadron chief and later postmaster in Ratibor . He died in 1805. Three years later, Sophie Eleonore married Friedrich Wilhelm von Titzenhofer, who had been inactive as a captain since 1805. Friedrich Wilhelm von Titzenhofer died of fever on February 1, 1813.
