Sophie Friederike Dinglinger (* around 1736 in Dresden ; † March 10, 1791 there ) was a German miniature and pastel painter .

Life

Sophie Friederike Dinglinger was born in Dresden as the daughter of the goldsmith Johann Friedrich Dinglinger . Her grandfather was the court goldsmith Johann Melchior Dinglinger . She learned drawing under the guidance of her father and later miniature painting from Adam Friedrich Oeser during his stay in Dresden. She later made pastel pictures and copied miniature works by Nogari , Tischbein and Graff . Elector August bought her first painting, a copy of the Holy Family by Raphael , for his miniature collection in the electoral picture gallery.
