Sophus Pohl-Laukamp

Sophus Pohl-Laukamp (born February 21, 1931 in Sønderborg ; † June 5, 2008 ) was a German lawyer and politician ( CDU ). He was a member of the Schleswig-Holstein parliament and citizenship deputy and mayor of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck .

Life

Sophus Pohl-Laukamp graduated from high school in Eutin in 1951 and studied law at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel until 1955 . In 1955 he passed his trainee examination and in 1959 his assessor examination. In 1959 he became a judge at the district court in Kiel , where he worked in the reparation chamber . In 1960 he moved to the Lübeck public prosecutor's office and then worked as a court assessor at courts in the regional court district. In 1964 he became a district judge in Kiel. In 1967 Pohl-Laukamp joined the CDU. In 1967 he became a member of the local court judge at the Bad Schwartau district court. In 1971 he moved to the Schleswig-Holstein Higher Regional Court in Schleswig.

Pohl-Laukamp belonged to the state parliament of Schleswig-Holstein in the 7th electoral term . He moved up on September 13, 1972 via the CDU state list for MP Wolfgang Weimar . In 1973/1974 he headed the “Investigation Committee to clarify the situation at the University Women's Clinic in Kiel” in the state parliament. He was a member of the Legal Committee, the Submission Committee and a deputy member of other committees. At the end of the electoral term, Pohl-Laukamp resigned from the state parliament in 1975.

In 1975 he married the lawyer Dagmar Pohl-Laukamp (* 1938), who was the interior senator of the city of Lübeck from 1988 to 2000. From 1975 to 1993 he was director of the Bad Oldesloe District Court.

Pohl-Laukamp was directly elected to Lübeck's citizenship in constituency 21 on May 5, 1978, as well as in the March 7, 1982 and March 2, 1986 elections.

Pohl-Laukamp belonged to several committees and headed the culture and social committees. In 1979 he was elected city president; from 1986 he was first deputy mayor. He was a member of the citizenry until 1988. The SPD politician Ingeborg Sommer succeeded Pohl-Laukamps as the first woman in the office of city president.

In Lübeck he was a co-founder of the Kiwanis Club and belonged to the Society for the Promotion of Charitable Activities and the Judges' Association.

After his death, Mayor Peter Sünnenwold paid tribute to Pohl-Laukamp as an exemplary politician and important personality. The service of the common good has always been in the foreground for him.
