Beginnings and first successes

Benjamin and Daniel Sorg have been involved in motorsport since 1990. After starting out in karting , Daniel Sorg switched to touring car racing in 1995 at the age of 19 . Three years later, the Sorg brothers founded racing, which also includes family members and friends. Since the name Sorg Motorsport was already given to a company in Urbach that no longer exists, they called the team Sorg Rennsport.

From 1998 to 2000, the team drove a Citroën AX Sport in the VLN endurance championship at the Nürburgring . A Ford Escort RS 2000 16V followed in 2001 . In 2002, an Opel Astra F GSI 16V was built, with which one took part for the first time in the ADAC 24h race on the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring. In the following years, Sorg Rennsport took part in the 24h race four times (2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005).

After the break in 2008

After a break for family reasons, Benjamin and Daniel Sorg got back in 2008, first with a Ford Fiesta ST, with which the 24H race was mastered for the fifth time and finished with a cup. Shortly before the end of the season, the company switched to the new BMW 325i E92 Coupe in preparation for 2009 .

In 2009 the first class wins in the VLN endurance championship were achieved. These successes were continued in 2010 with a second BMW 325i E90. In addition, there was the first class win in the 24h race at the Nürburgring.

In the 2011 season, further successes were achieved with three VLN class wins and another victory in the 24h race.

Two new BMW racing cars were added for the 2012 season; a Z4M Coupe and a 130i . This year the Securtal Sorg Rennsport team took part in international races for the first time. In the 24h race of the 24h Series on the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Barcelona , a second place was achieved.

Since 2013

The 2013 season began with the 24-hour race in Dubai , the 24-hour series was on the program for the first time. The team achieved third place with the near-series BMW Z4M Coupe. The 2013 VLN season started late due to the cold winter in the Eifel. However, the team was already on the road for testing on a rented racetrack in Zandvoort , the Netherlands, at the end of February . In the first race of the season, the team was able to secure fourth place with the Z4M. Things also went solidly for the M3, which finished 6th in the first two races of the season. The two other VLN races 2 and 2 the team won the class with the Z4M. In the V4 class, in which the 325i sedan competed, Sorg Rennsport achieved two second places.
