South Central (band)
South Central is a DJ duo from the seaside resort of Brighton in the south of England . The name is also used for a five-piece live band consisting of the two DJs and three guest musicians.

Behind South Central are two DJs and musicians named Rob and Keith who have been friends since their youth. Based on the marketing strategy of Daft Punk , the two appear rather mysterious in public and refuse to reveal their last names. This is underlined in appearances and interviews by their appearance (hood, hat pulled low over the face).
Rob has a classical music education, Keith's interest in music was sparked by an uncle who was a well-known jazz bassist. In terms of influences, the two name z. B. Kraftwerk , Joy Division or New Order , The Fall , Gary Numan , Stevie Wonder or Korn . Her own music can best be characterized as a mixture of techno , dance and indie rock with a pinch of punk . Rob himself speaks of "Electrocknica".
After years of tinkering through the clubs of Brighton as a DJ duo, South Central first aroused national interest in 2006 with bootlegs and official remixes (including Klaxons , Maccabees , Boy Kill Boy ) and their first own single, "Nothing Can Go Wrong" Airplay at MTV (UK) was reinforced. First tours through England and France followed. From September 27th to October 20th, 2007, Rob and Keith toured as resident DJs on the “ NME Rock & Roll Riot Tour” with The Wombats across the UK.
Her single "Golden Dawn" (official release date in UK: January 8th, 2008; label: Holiphonic; video clip director: Steve Glashier) was presented not only by smaller radio stations, but also by the BBC and worldwide by BFBS.
