The 1988 season was the 20th edition of the Soviet ice hockey cup . Cup winner was CSKA Moscow for the twelfth time . The first games of the tournament were played in September 1986, while the final was played in August 1988. The tournament's top scorer was Boris Alexandrow from Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk with eight goals.
