In 2011 the association was revived on the basis of the SDJuSSchor Charkiw association, which was founded in 2003, and initially only worked with young people. Since the 2011/12 season, the club has been participating in the Professional Hockey League , the highest Ukrainian ice hockey league , as HK Kharkivsky Akuly .

history

Dinamo Charkow was founded in 1979 from the youth department of Dynamo Moscow . This was preceded by the opening of the Kharkiv Ice Sports Palace , for which a use was sought. Therefore, the management of the Dynamo sports club decided to found a team in Kharkiv to offer junior players better opportunities to play in the men's field. Valentin Yegorov was delegated from Moscow as coach and the first players were recruited from Voskressensk , Kiev , Minsk , Ufa , Penza and Novokuznetsk . With this team Dinamo Kharkov started in the third class Wtoraja League and finished eighth in the western season with 26 wins from 60 games. In the following season, the team reached third place in the western season, with 39 wins from 60 games. The Dinamo player Igor Funikow was the top scorer of the season with 64 points, while his teammate Vladimir Subrilchev was named best player in the division.

In 1982 Dinamo made it to the second division of the Soviet Union, the Pervaya League , and quickly established itself in this division. At the end of the 1987/88 season , the team made it to the top division, the Wysschaya League, with 97 points . In the 1988/89 season Dinamo reached only five wins from 26 games during the main round, so the club had to participate in the relegation round. In this, the team was able to achieve relegation with 21 wins. A year later , they were relegated to the Pervaya League, as the team had only collected 12 points during the main round and finished 8th in the relegation round with only 13 wins from 36 games.

The main round of the 1990/91 season ended Dinamo in first place of the west relay, but missed promotion in the promotion and relegation round to the Vysschaya League with eighth place the promotion. At the end of the 1991/92 season, due to the political changes, many clubs in the lower divisions were in financial distress, as the patronage companies no longer provided them with any money. So the promotion round of the season was worthless, as SKA Saint Petersburg , SKA Khabarovsk and Dinamo Charkiw refused to play it completely.

Since the 2011/12 season, Dinamo Kharkiv has been participating in the Professional Hockey League , the highest Ukrainian league , under the name HK Kharkivsky Akuly .
