Olexander Jewhenowytsch Wjuchin ( Ukrainian Олександр Євгенович В'юхін ; Russian Александр Евгеньевич Вьюхин / Alexander Jewgenjewitsch Wjuchin * 9. January 1973 in Sverdlovsk , Russian SFSR , † 7. September 2011 in Tunoschna in Yaroslavl ) was a Ukrainian - Russian ice hockey player , who has been December 2010 at Lokomotive Yaroslavl from the Continental Hockey League under contract.

Career

Olexander Viuchin began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior division of Junost Sverdlovsk. With SDJuSchOR Junost he became Junior Champion of the Soviet Union in 1990. A year later, he and his team took third place in the CIS Junior Championship.

In the senior sector, the goalkeeper made his debut in the 1991/92 season when he played for the Ukrainian club Dinamo Kharkiv in the second Russian division . He then moved to the Ukrainian capital for two years for HK Sokol Kiev , for whom he played in the International Hockey League (MHL). From 1994 to 2003 he was at the Russian club HK Awangard Omsk in the MHL and Superliga between the posts. In the 2000/01 season he was with his team Russian runner-up - in the playoff final he was defeated with his team to HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk .

During the 2003/04 season, Wjuchin joined HK Sibir Novosibirsk in the Russian Super League , for which he was always the goalkeeper for three and a half years. From 2007 to 2009, the Ukrainian with a Russian passport for Severstal Tscherepowez first in the Super League and then in the 2008/09 season in the newly founded Continental Hockey League . Following this season, the former international was signed by Severstals league rivals Metallurg Novokuznetsk , for whom he played until December 2010. Then he switched to Lokomotive Yaroslavl in exchange for Alexander Lasuschin . On September 7, 2011, he was killed in a plane crash near Yaroslavl .

International

For Ukraine Vyukhin took part in the C-World Championships in 1993 and 1994 , and the A-World Cup in 1999 . In total, he stood between the posts in 13 games for his country.
