The Soyensee is a bathing lake of almost half a square kilometer in the north of the Rosenheim district , about 4.5 km north-northwest of Wasserburg . It is designated as a protected landscape area for the Soyensee and its surroundings (LSG-00054.01).

The lake is located in the municipality of Soyen , the main town of which is on the northeastern bank of the lake, as well as on the Rosenheim – Mühldorf railway line and less than a kilometer east of the B 15 .
The Soyensee was formed about 12,000 years ago when the Inn glacier melted. Its water is fed to the Vorderleiten am Inn power plant via a 2170 meter long tunnel.
It has a size of approx. 0.44 km² and a maximum length of approx. 1.1 km and a maximum width of 0.6 km. The greatest depth of the Soyensee is 19.2 m. The water quality is given as excellent.
The lake is good for camping, swimming, surfing and boating. The lake has a beach with spacious sunbathing areas and a campsite.
