Voltage unit

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The unit of tension is the unit of two related and mutually dependent poles . It is a philosophical term from those life-philosophical doctrines of opposites that describes a “ dialogical ” state of limbo in contrast to the dialectical synthesis of two opposites or contradictions that are not necessarily mutually dependent, and sometimes even mutually exclusive .

In the background is the philosophical question of whether “as well as” or “either / or” should be viewed as the basic principle of life.

The “above and inside” ( heteronomy / autonomy - obedience / freedom ) and the “above and below” (idea / matter - transcendence / immanence ) appear as basic philosophical polarities . From a social-philosophical point of view, this has an effect in the tension between individuality and sociality as well as between politics and mysticism ( Vita contemplativa / Vita activa , see also Ora et labora ) and between tradition and progress . In terms of scientific theory, there is also the tension between "theory and practice".

The philosophical-theological discussion, especially in the 1920s, was about whether and how lively, concrete realities such as God, man, church, state are to be understood as “ Complexio oppositorum ” and what consequences such images of God , human beings and worldviews have for that Have life. In doing so, the image of the unit of tension was primarily set against esoteric - dualistic concepts.

This concept of the unit of voltage must be distinguished from the physical concept of the unit of measurement for electrical voltage, volt , even if it is fundamentally ahead of the picture. However, in the philosophical-pedagogical context it is not a question of evaluating the poles as “positive” and “negative”, but as “equal additions”, under which at most a primacy of order but not of dignity can exist ( Romano Guardini ).
