Inge Egger

Ingeborg Gertrud Josefine Egger (born August 27, 1923 in Linz , † September 5, 1976 in Berlin ) was an Austrian film actress .

Life

Inge Egger graduated from a girls' boarding school and then trained as an actor at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna . At the age of 22, after her first small appearance in the feature film Schrammeln 1944 at the side of Hans Moser , she was engaged by the Theater in der Josefstadt and received a six-year contract.

Inge Egger became known and popular through her leading role in the film Fanfares of Love (director: Kurt Hoffmann , 1951), in which Ilse Petri , Dieter Borsche and Georg Thomalla also participated. She subsequently played with Willy Birgel (Die Toteninsel, 1955) and in musical comedies with Peter Alexander and Vico Torriani . However, illness, personal problems and negative media coverage caused her to withdraw from the film business. Inge Egger went to Berlin in 1956 and appeared in theater roles. Some supporting rolesin films from 1960 and participation in the satirical strip Wir Kellerkinder did not stop her turning away from the film business.

From 1960 to 1973 Inge Egger worked as a medical-technical assistant at the Berlin Federal Health Office. In 1976 she died of cancer in Berlin.
