Today's savings and loan association Bockum-Hövel eG goes back to the merger of the savings and loan association Bockum / formerly Hövel-Bockumer savings and loan association and the savings and loan association Hövel.
In 1883, the Hövel-Bockumer savings and loan association was founded on the initiative of the Westphalian farmers' association. In 1925 the seat of the institute was moved from Hövel to Bockum. In 1935 the bank was renamed to Bockumer Spar- und Kreditskassenverein, and in 1947 the bank was renamed Spar- und Autovermietung Bockum eGmuH.
With the relocation of the headquarters in 1925, 33 Höveler citizens and former members founded the "Höveler Savings and Loan Association eGmuH" on March 9, 1925. In 1948 the company was renamed to Spar- und Kreditskasse Hövel eGmuH. In the 40th year of its existence, the Hövel savings and loan fund was converted into an eGmbH.
In 1968 the merger of the two institutes was discussed for the first time, which took place in 1970 under the new name "Spar- und Kreditskasse Bockum-Hövel eGmbH".
