Spellcaster is an American heavy metal and speed metal band from Portland , Oregon . She was founded in 2009 and released her debut album Under the Spell on Heavy Artillery Records in July 2011 .
history
In the founding year, the band recorded the EP Spells of Speed with three songs and released it on their own. This brought Spellcaster a record deal with Heavy Artillery Records, where Spells of Speed was reissued in October 2010 as part of the “Wax Maniax” series with two live songs as bonus tracks . In the same month, the band toured the United States with Evil Survives and then appeared in their hometown as a support act at a concert by Poison Idea and Wehrmacht . Heavy Artillery also released the album Under the Spell in 2011 .

style
The band plays varied heavy and speed metal with influences from power and thrash metal . Comparisons were made to Enforcer , Skullview and Iced Earth . The band sees itself in the tradition of older metal bands from the northwest of the USA such as Malice , Metal Church , Queensrÿche and Sanctuary .
