In the Spiegel Spezial series, which has been published since 1988, there were - among other topics - also sporadic booklets on a historical topic. In 2007 and 2008, the historical issues were published once a quarter under the title Spiegel Special Geschichte .
The magazine Der Spiegel Geschichte has been published six times a year since 2009 and deals with monothematic historical topics.
Digital output
In addition to the printed magazine, since July 2013 there has also been a digital edition of Spiegel Geschichte for web browsers and apps , for which the magazine contents are specially prepared and supplemented with videos, interactive graphics and 360-degree panoramic photos.

History and description
The pay-TV channel Spiegel Geschichte offers an extensive program of documentaries on historical topics. The focus is on events, people and moments from the 20th century .
Spiegel Geschichte has been broadcasting its program since July 4, 2009 and can be received on Sky Germany , Sky Austria and Teleclub Switzerland . Spiegel Geschichte has been available in HD since April 1, 2014 .
The station was operated by Spiegel TV Geschichte GmbH & Co. KG, a joint venture between Spiegel TV (Spiegel Verlag) and Autentic GmbH. Since the start of Spiegel TV Wissen on October 4, 2011, Spiegel TV Geschichte GmbH & Co. KG is now called Spiegel TV Geschichte + Wissen GmbH & Co. KG . The managing directors are Patrick Hörl and the journalist and director Michael Kloft (managing director and program director). Channel manager Jens Fabian Kirsch is responsible for station activities.
On October 18, 2016, the station was rebranded and a new logo was introduced.
