Michael Kloft

Michael Kloft (* 1961 in Bonn ) is a German journalist , television author, television producer and director .

Life

After completing his community service , he studied political science from 1983 to 1989 . Initially he worked as a freelance writer for various contemporary television documentaries, including Spiegel TV and Chronos-Film. In 1992 he became assistant director in Heinrich Breloer's production Wehner - the Untold Story . With Spiegel TV since 1995, he has been head of the “History” department at Spiegel TV since 2000 and Michael Kloft has been managing director and program director at the pay-TV channel Spiegel Geschichte since 2009 . Michael Kloft's documentaries were a. a. broadcast by ARD , ZDF (in cooperation with Guido Knopp ), Sat.1 and VOX .

The documentary What Color is the War - Germany 1945 was nominated for the Adolf Grimme Prize in 1996. Hitler's Hehler - The Swiss Banks and Nazi Gold received the bronze medal at the New York Film Festival in 1998 . The documentary The Goebbels Experiment was shown at the 2005 Berlinale . In the same year, his two-part documentary When the War Came to Germany - Diary 1945 was nominated for the German Television Prize.
