action

Joe Clifford, an actor with Shakespeare plays across the western village squares, inherits his gold mine from an uncle. As he tries to take possession of her, he discovers that fraudulent schemes have led Landberry's cunning city boss, Berg, to exploit her. Contrary to Berg's claims, he did not acquire it honestly, but rather took it by force. Berg wants to get rid of the pistol-carrying actor, but with the help of a barber he can eliminate all of Berg's people in a long fight and ultimately defeat the cheater himself; nevertheless, he then decides to leave the area.

criticism

“There is ample action in this film; it is shot almost continuously. The pyrotechnics are accompanied by Nicolai's excellent music ”, says Christian Keßler ; the Italian Segnalazioni Cinematografiche described the work as below average; There is "little originality in the story, which is completely subordinate to the shootings." On the other hand, the Spanish fotogramas found that the character of the actor as the central hero prevents the film from sliding into disaster as an anecdotal detail.

Remarks

The pistolero's showdown against the whole gang takes up almost half an hour at the end of the film.

According to the film prop, Joe plays something of "William Sahkesparea" for the people.

The soundtrack of the film is available on CD.
